3+ Years’ Experience in Events & Social Media Marketing
I started my career as an Activities Coordinator in a care home where I quickly developed a taste for events management and relationship building. A natural progression from this was social media and I have spent the last few years researching how to optimise brand visibility through organic social media and content marketing.
Focusing On the Important Stuff
Going freelance has given me more time to spend with my cats. Two are rescues and need more time and energy than working in person allows. So, I set Verbawise up so I could stay at home with them more often. They’re all named after musicians – Elvis, Dusty and Blondie – and their meows provide the soundtrack to my day. They’ve also requested that I inform you to book with me today so they can get their monthly quota of treats.
Taking Time Out
Most of my camera roll consists of cat pictures and photos from my trips around the UK. Travelling abroad is a fun experience, but there is also something special about the UK that warrants its exploration. My favourite things to take photos of are castles, the sea, flowers and my latest read with a jaw-dropping background.
A Proponent for Learning
You can always find me researching something and I love a free certification. I don’t think the learning process should stop simply because we are no longer at school. The best way for me to improve at social media marketing is through experience and research which are my favourite aspects of the job. I also enjoy reading for pleasure. That’s right, I can usually be found hanging out in the library getting excited about the new releases.
Long-Term Plans
My long-term goal is to transform Verbawise into a full-service digital marketing agency with a whole team of experts in the field. For now, it’s just me (although I am pretty good if I do say so myself) but I’d like to hire a couple of colleagues within the next few years.
